Πρωτοβουλία της Ευρωβουλευτή ΝΔ-ΕΛΚ Μαρία Σπυράκη
Το Ευρωπαϊκό Κοινοβούλιο καλείται να συζητήσει πρόταση ψηφίσματος για πρόσθετη χρηματοδότηση στην Ελλάδα για την αντιμετώπιση των επιπτώσεων του μεσογειακού τυφώνα Ιανός. Η πρόταση κατατέθηκε με πρωτοβουλία της ευρωβουλευτή της ΝΔ-ΕΛΚ Μαρίας Σπυράκη την οποία συνυπογράφουν οι αντιπρόεδροι της ΚΟ του ΕΛΚ Ευάγγελος Μειμαράκης και Πάολο Ρανζέλ και ο αντιπρόεδρος του ΕΛΚ Ιβαν Στέφανετς , ο αντιπρόεδρος του Ευρωκοινοβουλίου Δημήτρης Παπαδημούλης και μια σειρά ευρωβουλευτές .
Σύμφωνα με την πρόταση ψηφίσματος καλείται η Κομισιόν όχι μόνο να προχωρήσει άμεσα στην ενεργοποίηση των πόρων του Ταμείου Αλληλεγγύης, μετά από αίτημα των ελληνικών αρχών, αλλά και να διαθέσει και επιπλέον πόρους στην Ελλάδα για την αντιμετώπιση των επιπτώσεων του τυφώνα «Ιανός» όπως έκανε στο παρελθόν για ανάλογες περιπτώσεις στην Ιταλία και την Πορτογαλία.
Ολόκληρη η πρόταση ψηφίσματος έχει ως εξής:
Motion for a European Parliament resolution on the major natural disasters in Western, Central Greece and Crete and the effects of the Mediterranean hurricane Ianos
The European Parliament,
– having regard to Rule 143 of its Rules of Procedure,
A. having regard to the disasters which devastated Western, Central Greece and Crete, causing the loss of lives and material damage as a result of an extreme weather phenomenon, such as the Mediterranean hurricane Ianos with people killed, injured, and missing;
B. having regard to the inhabitants of the affected regions who still find themselves in a precarious situation, the enormous damage to critical infrastructure, the destruction of many homes and the heavy social and economic consequences for those affected;
- Calls on the Commission, as soon as the Greek government and regional governments concerned submit the relevant requests, promptly to encourage all actions necessary to mobilise the European Union Solidarity Fund (EUSF), as well as all additional resources and funding, including the current MFF in the most urgent and flexible way and to the maximum possible amount, as it has already done so in the past in similar cases in Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Greece.
