Pandemic of COVID-19 has a huge impact on labour market participation. Specifically, during the pandemic, employment in the EU dropped significantly in the retail, tourism and hospitality sectors, where women make up more than 60% of the workforce. Female unemployment in the bloc now stands at 8.1%, whereas it’s 7.2% for men.
